Wonderstone is a rhyolitic ash that has crystalized and forms the banded pink, red, and orange colors you see from iron oxides in the rock. I cut the Wonderstone specifically to accent the banding.  This was a particularly fun piece to work with because it took the shape of a familiar winged creature.
